A Message from Our Superintendent

Dear Family and Community Members,

Our 2017-18 school year is moving fast, and it was only yesterday that we opened the school year. As we come off our fall break, we return to the educational setting, which is a foundation for the academic and social development of our students. Many fantastic things have taken place this year at the school. This includes the establishing of our school garden, the recent Bouse Red Ribbon Week Kick-Off Parade, and the establishing of our student council executive officers. With those accomplishments, we look forward to the annual events of the Halloween carnival, the veterans luncheon, and the Christmas program. What I have been impressed by in my short time here is the collective efforts of our community members who come out to support the works of the school. This was truly evident at the recent barbeque held at the community park. I also must comment on the commitment of our staff to support the needs of our students. I cannot say enough of our teachers and staff who have worked very hard supporting one another with the diverse and unique multi-grade level classes we offer. I also have to comment on the dedicated work our governing board has put in. They are preparing for work involving strategic planning and will seek feedback from stakeholders. The goal is to ensure the mission and vision support the goals of the community. Our student enrollment continues to increase and as it does, we look to continue to develop our academic offerings to support each student.

As we move through October and into November, we are reminded of the traditions involving family and friends. This time of year marks a time to encompass family with the harvest of the summer and prepares for the upcoming holiday season. It is this time of year that our community welcomes the return of its winter visitors. With that said, I extend an invite to all community members and winter visitors to attend our school activities. Please take a moment to read the monthly Bouse newspaper, as it will have information regarding the school and community. This is great time of year to spend time with family and friends. My family and I would like to wish all the members of the Bouse community a happy and safe fall season.

We had a very successful opening of the school year. The staff worked hard to ensure learning took place on day one. I am very proud of all of their work in diligently preparing lessons, organizing classrooms, and cleaning the school facility, to just name a few of the tasks needed.

Sincerely,

Dr. Gregory T. Sackos
