February 20 - 23
This is a short week because we celebrated President’s Day on Monday. I hope everyone had a relaxing weekend and are ready to return to school ready to work and learn.
This week in preschool
- Our theme is zoo animals.
- In Kindergarten, we will be beginning a new theme Wheels all Around.
- Our focus letter this week is D. We will continue to blend and read short i words.
- We are reading simple stories while learning about spaces between words and capital letters.
- We will also be writing simple sight word sentences.
- We will also use opposites in our sentences as well as writing about signs in the environment. In math, we will work with graphs and beginning subtraction.
- In Preschool we will be working with rhymes, increasing our vocabulary using descriptive words and working with the letter K.
- For science we will talk about what things are made of and how parts work together.
- In social studies we will be discussing the symbols of Arizona and making crafts to display at the LaPaz county fair.
I continue to hand out tickets for books read and written on the book log sheet. The tickets will then be held for a drawing on Monday mornings to receive an ice cream pass. If you have any questions please feel free to call or stop in and if I’m free I will gladly talk with you.
