Mrs. Connelly’s 5th and 6th Grade Class
NEWS for the February 2012
It’s hard to believe that another month has gone by. As you already know, the 5th and 6th are getting their writing and social studies from Mr. Reiff. It really makes the most sense. He is a published author and has a degree in social studies. Jake and I in turn, teach math to our class, and then teach the 7th & 8th graders math.
- The class continues to excel in Accelerated Reading.
- Currently, we surpass all of the other classes in AR points.
- We only have 30 minutes a day to silent read, but most of the students are following our advice to also read at home.
- We are doing some of our science on Study Island.
The program has a nice lesson to begin, and then proceeds with a test. Any of you with internet capabilities are encouraged to have your child access Study Island at home.
We are looking forward to the fishing trip on 1/26. Look for the details in next month’s newsletter.
